What is an Emergency Response Plan (ERP)?

Emergency Response Planning is designed to take into account a number of eventualities including:

  • The need for temporary or permanent evacuation from a given location or an area within a country.
  • Deterioration in the normal infrastructure or living conditions in a country to such an extent that these are unacceptable or could cause danger to life.

    Such circumstances could include famine, flood, earthquakes, disease, other natural phenomena, pandemic such as Swine Flu, political upheaval, breaks in diplomatic relations, civil unrest, terrorist action or war.
